OpusCapita® Case NCC is building on reliable analyses Improved Liquidity Management Fast, reliable analyses and flexibility were some of the things required by NCC Treasury when looking for a suitable tool for liquidity forecasting. Since autumn 2005, the OpusCapita Liquidity Management program has been used throughout the entire NCC construction group. NCC is working actively with cash management and liquidity forecasting. The ability to predict the future cash flow is vital to monitor the business operations and to optimize the use of funds. NCC has a centralized finance function. The Treasury is acting as the in-house bank for the NCC group and coordinates and manages the group's financial flows and associated risks. The unit handles NCC´s debt portfolio and the group's currency transactions, and liquidity management. One important task is the frequent generation of liquidity forecasts for the entire group. This is where OpusCapita Liquidity Management comes in. "We have been compiling liquidity forecasts for the entire group for many years. It is a job that involves collecting a lot of information from many different sources. Previously, we did it entirely by hand using a standard Excel spread-sheet, but this became complex and quite sensitive. Most of all we lacked the ability to analyse the forecast versus the outcome. Our new tool is the Opus-Capita Liquidity Management program," say Mattias Ekblad and Karin Mård of NCC Treasury. Time-consuming before Liquidity Management It was not just laborious to gather all the information each week from the subsidiaries; such work was also difficult to follow up. "The previous method did not give us the possibility to generate analyses to compare the forecast to the actual outcome. Furthermore we could not see how the forecasts had changed, and it was also difficult to detect errors." "Using Liquidity Management, this all works smoothly. The system is highly flexible and can be easily adjusted to our requirements. The program does not seem "Liquidity Management is very easy to use and gives us a broader scope in generating different types of analyses. Information gathering is now completely automatic, saving time for other, more qualitative work," say Karin Mård and Mattias Ekblad of NCC Treasury.
