OpusCapita® Case Ramboll's goal: Total liquidity control at your fingertips Jeanette Louw-Reimer (left) and Lotte Christensen can see plenty of benefits in Ramboll's new cash management system, both financial and organisational. In early 2007 the international engineering, design and consultancy company Ramboll confirmed that its liquidity was essentially at the same level as the company's bank loans. "And you don't have to be an expert to realise that wasn't a particularly healthy situation," observes Jeanette Louw-Reimer, Group Business Controller at Ramboll, diplomatically. Problem: As a consequence of rapid expansive, international growth, Ramboll's liquidity situation became inefficient. Solution: OpusCapita delivered a user-friendly cash management system which could be expanded, when needed. The situation was a consequence of Ramboll's rapid expansive, international growth, and the Group therefore decided to undertake a wide-ranging initiative in the area of treasury. A journey that has led them to a situation today in which they have both a new cash management system and new treasury routines, and above all they can already recoup their investment. Operations both above and below ground Ramboll's history stretches back more than 60 years. In 1945 two young Danish engineers set up a company to provide advice on engineering services. Today, Ramboll is a leading international engineering, design and consultancy firm offering holistic solutions across a very broad field. Following a number of acquisitions, including the Swedish business Scandiaconsult, Whitbybird in the UK and Indian business IMIsoft, the Ramboll Group is now a global player with more than 8,000 employees at about 200 offices all over the world. "We're behind a number of projects such as the Öresund Bridge, Turning Torso in Malmö and Oslo's spectacular opera house. Despite this, it can be difficult for outsiders to understand our operations, as our expertise in areas such as environmental decontamination and planning isn't very visible," explains Jeanette Louw-Reimer, Group Business Controller at Ramboll.
